National Day of Prayer

Today is National Day of Prayer...what an honor and privilege that we live in a nation where there is a day to celebrate such an awesome gift. To know that our Savior wants a relationship with us and has instilled the Holy Spirit in those who have called upon Him to be able to have such an intimate relationship, that when we pray and seek after Him, he stops and listens. He cares about every little detail.

This morning our school had a prayer walk. It contained 10 different stations where a high school student led my class in prayer about different issues such as our country, our school, parents, finances, missionaries, etc. It was a very special time, despite having to fuss my kids to stop kicking dirt and picking up rocks. We are working on the concept of reverence!

This afternoon we will join together for an assembly and a balloon release that contains prayers of students, teachers and administration.....not sure how legal or good for the environment that is, but it will be a sign of releasing our prayers to God.

How amazing is it that as Christians, we do not have to only have 1 specific day set aside for prayer, but that our Heavenly Father listens anytime and anywhere we are. What an amazing and gracious God we serve! Today take time to reflect on how important prayer is and be thankful that God desires to hear His children.
