Not Your Typical Date Night

If you are a parent, you may be like me, who finds it hard to get any alone time with your spouse. I love this stage of crazy chaos and babies everywhere, but it is very easy to forget that Evan and I NEED alone time together too. First you have to find the time, then the money, then a babysitter. Those things are not always readily available and we often find ourselves having gone a long time without a date night. I reminisce about all the alone time we had before kids and I wonder what the heck we did with all of that time. If you do not have kids, one day you will see what I am talking about. Soak up the time NOW!!! If you find yourself in the same boat as me, make sure that you and your spouse are getting some time together before you go CRAZY! I am realizing how important it is to keep dating even after you are married and have kids.

We have tried to make it a point to get creative and to schedule time for each other. Yes, we have to schedule it or it will never happen. Sleep almost always takes precedence. Sometimes it's a night out to dinner and ice-cream, sometimes it's a red box movie and popcorn and others, it's sitting at the table and playing a board game after the kids are asleep. I sooo look forward to any date nights we get, but I have to admit, that the same things can get mundane after a while.

That is why I was so excited when I ran across this website www.thedatingdivas.com. At first glance it didn't seem like the kind of website that I would be excited about, but then I checked it out. The tag line is "Strengthening Marriages, One Date at a Time." LOVE IT!!! This site is full of fun date night ideas ranging from going out to staying in. There are silly dates, romantic dates, family dates, etc. I will definitely be putting some of these ideas into action. There are also super cute little ideas that you can do on a regular basis for your significant other just to make them smile. So, if you need a little creativity in your love life, are on a budget or just love surprising that special someone, check it out!
