Pajama Baby Shower

My mom, family and some friends threw me a pajama baby shower on Sunday. It was so much fun and everything looked adorable. We were all super comfy because we were all in pj's. There were lots of bedtime stories stationed all around the house with stuffed animals to go along with the theme and 2 of my favorite childhood books that I have been dying to find (thank you Jaimie!)

The colors were orange, blue, lime green and yellow...bright and fun! The cake table was decorated to look like a bed...pillow and all. They did such a great job throwing this together and I really relaxed and enjoyed it. Here are some pictures courtesy of my friend Blair. When I get the rest from my aunt, I will post the group picture of everyone...it's so cute. I got showered with lots of great gifts for the baby. Now we are trying to figure out where to put everything. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day special for me.

Here I am with mom, Audrey and Jaimie.

How adorable is this cake????? SO yummy too! It is from Zoe's bakery.

My spot was made to look like a bed and decorated with all Dr. Seuss themed stuff. Obviously I made myself comfortable!

These adorable onesie cookies were handmade by my dear friend Blair. They tasted as good as they look.

We played 2 very fun games. This one everyone got to pick between chocolate, strawberry or white milk and the person who drank it out of the bottle the fastest won. It's hard work!!!! Everyone's jaws were killing them by the time it was over. Here is Lauren chugging!

My oh so creative friend Blair also made the adorable favors. They are chocolate suckers and each one has a Baby McGinty tag on it. She is so good!

Here is the cousin clan....getting larger. A short time ago, it was just us girls....now look at all these babies.
These are some of my dear friends from school. They are so sweet!

"Take my Breath Away"

I have been having the hardest time breathing lately! I can be standing up doing NOTHING and all of a sudden have to lean over and gasp for air. I sometimes feel like I have run a marathon after giving my students directions on a worksheet and will have to sit and focus on deep breaths. It hits out of nowhere and usually when I sit it can get somewhat better, but it happens when I am sitting sometimes too. I am not sure if it is just the position of the baby pushing against my ribs and lungs (I know they do that). It's very uncomfortable whatever the cause. I'm not trying to be a whiner...although I am pretty good at that. It is just hard to function as a K teacher especially during Achievement test week when I have to read tons of oral directions and walk around to monitor my kids....I got through #12 yesterday and gave up..I had to sit. Luckily my aide came in to monitor today while I read. I still have 27 teaching days left and I want to push through till the end, after all the baby is not due until the end of June. But is oxygen too much to ask for???? I put in a call to the doc just in case. I am likely to blow things off as nothing, but I guess a phone call can't hurt and everyone said I need to at least make him aware. So, I am waiting on a call back......hopefully this baby will change positions soon and give me some relief:)

UPDATE: Doctor ordered a stress test. I'll go take it today..I'm sure everything is fine though.
UPDATE 2: Did the stress test and everything looks great with me and baby. Guess I'm just going to have to get used to less air for the next 9 weeks:)

7 month Belly

Here is the baby belly at 7 months (please excuse the pajamas)! I am feeling so much movement all of the time! The doctor had a hard time hearing the heartbeat because little McGinty was moving around so much at my appointment this week. I can't believe we only have 11 weeks left. When I look at it like that, it seems so soon, but still not soon enough. I am really enjoying being pregnant right now, but am seriously tired ( I took a 2 1/2 hour nap yesterday) and my lower back is starting to hurt pretty bad from the weight of the baby. Thank God for a week of Spring Break after today!!!!!!!! Lot's of rest for baby and me. How do you think I am carrying......low, high or right in the middle......I can't decide?

Twilight

My Dad rented Twilight the other night and let me borrow it. I had no intention of going to rent it myself, I don't like Vampires or anything remotely scary, but I was tempted to see what all of the fuss was over. Turns out, I really liked the movie. Then for my birthday, the next day, Dad and his girlfriend Erin bought me the 1st and 2nd book as they knew how much I had enjoyed the movie. I LOVE to read fiction! These books are made for teen girls, so it is easy reading, but I have not been able to put the book down. I am not saying I am now a vampire fan...the books are not in the least scary, just intriguing. So, it looks like I have become a Twilight fan...but I can promise you, I won't be showing up at the movie theater at midnight to watch the next movie. I can't stay up past TWILIGHT most nights.

Crawfish Season Begins!!!

On Saturday my family celebrated my 27th birthday with a crawfish boil....the first one of the season. It was DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection thanks to our friend Chad. We had everyone over at our place, which I was a little nervous about because our place was so small and by the time you have my fam over it's 20 people. But, it worked out perfectly. We have a small backyard that is perfectly shaded by big pine trees and the weather was GORGEOUS!!! Don't worry, I didn't eat too many crawfish, but I had to introduce the baby to some Lousisiana flavor. Yum.....I wish I was pinching tails and sucking heads right now!!!!! Here are LOTS of pics of the fam enjoying the day:
