Flower Princess

I decided to put Dixie in this Tinkerbell tutu dress for Halloween. I didn't feel like sticking that yarn wig on her for a 3rd day in a row only to have her constantly try to rip it off. The dress was a little too small despite it being a size 12-18 months. Her little stocking bottom was sticking out, but she still looked cute. We had no fairy wings, so I stuck a huge flower on her head and called her a "Flower Princess." We didn't even go Trick or Treating as our neighborhood was a complete let down with hardly any kids Trick or Treating and only a few houses passing out candy. I figured I wouldn't put any of us through the disappointment. Next year, she will be more aware of what is going on. She had fun digging through our candy bowl though and eating a big sucker.

What a doll!

Here are 2 sneak peek pictures of Dixie's Halloween photos by my friend, Amber. I am so excited about them. She literally is a doll!

Trunk or Treat

Last night we went to a Trunk or Treat at the YMCA. Our church helped out by passing out candy and making balloon animals (Evan has become a balloon animal master:) This was Dixie's first year to actually Trick or Treat. She had no clue what was going on and barely held onto her bucket as I pushed her around in her stroller. We had practiced saying "Trick or Treat" all day but in public she just gave a blank stare. Oh well, she was cute anyway.

I let her have her very first sucker and she LOVED it! She kept saying "yummy...yummy." We dressed her as a rag doll courtesy of Dee Dee, the baby and I were a pumpkin and Evan was a rodeo clown. It was a fun night to be involved with the community and it's even more fun digging in her candy bucket....mmmm. Professional pictures of Dixie in her costume to come soon...I can't wait!

Just a side funny.. I dressed as a ragdoll and used the same wig when I was only a few weeks pregnant with Dixie. Can you see the resemblance?

Down on the Farm

We visited a local farm here in town with all the babies last weekend. They had a pumpkin festival, which was nothing compared to the ones in Virginia, but it was still fun. I really wanted to get a picture of all the cousins together, but it was not happening. Here are a few that I did get:

Uh oh, Audrey got a splinter!

Dixie grabbing Daddy's nose as we wait for the hay ride that we never got to ride:(

Checking out the baby calfs. He slobbered all over Dixie's John Deere shoes.

Love this picture of Sylvan. He was so excited to see that chick.
Soryn having fun tickling Dixie

My favorite pic because it depicts the kid's personalities so well. Brooke is chilling with her cool shades on, Soryn was trying to give a big "cheese" for the camera, Audrey is dumping hay all over Soryn's head, Dixie is crying and Sylvan is just standing there like "huh?" Cracks me up!!!
It was also my mom's birthday that day, and we celebrated Evan and Jerry's birthdays too:

Backyard Movie Night

This post is way overdue, but I had to post it because it was so much fun. Evan and I decided to host a Backyard movie night a few weeks ago. It just so happened that then the weather was nice and cool with no humidity.....now that it's almost November the heat and mugginess are back. We invited friends, family and neighbors and told everyone to bring lawn chairs and blankets. We provided popcorn, drinks and the movie on the big screen. Evan actually built the screen backdrop and we used a white sheet to cover it. It worked great. We showed "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" since most people have kids. I think the grown men enjoyed the movie the most though:)

Of course I went around flashing the camera in everyone's face during the movie, but I had to document the event. We are looking forward to doing another one in the Spring and hopefully it being a neighborhood outreach. Our church is doing one in a few weeks at a ballpark and I'm super excited to see and meet all the people who come out.

My friend Amber took maternity pics for us. She did such a good job and I am so thankful to have these to look back on through the years. You can check out her page on Facebook :

Homemade gifts

These are not Fall crafts, but my most recent homemade gift items (all about keeping it cheap and getting my creative itch out):

New personalized brag book filled with family photos for my mom

Cash Envelopes for my mom. We are studying Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace, which encourages you to use cash instead of credit or debit so you can visually see how much money you are spending and have left. I decorated them and laminated them for reuse and to make it cuter than a plain envelope
Matching burp cloth and Tie-zee for my friend Krista who is expecting a baby boy next month.

Happy Birthday Evan

Evan turned 27 this week....youngin'. We did a low key celebration at home with cupcakes. Dixie enjoyed it.

"Pop...goes the belly."

At 7 1/2 months pregnant, I feel like my belly is going to pop open.

Virginia Vacay

This past weekend, we decided to travel yet again....I know INSANITY! We took a trip to Ashburn, Virginia to visit my best friend Lyndsey and her fam. I was so nervous as this was going to be my first flight with Dixie in tow. We had 2 flights there and two flights home. Amazingly, she did great on all 4. We had about 30 seconds of intense screaming on our last flight home, which seemed like it lasted for an eternity, but it was her bed time and she was TIRED!

Our trip was wonderful. Dixie and B got along GREAT and we did just enough to get out of the house and have some fun, but still lay low while I am huge and pregnant and 2 babies needed naps. The weather felt amazing and it was good to spend time with my friend. Thank you Lyndsey and Chad for being gracious hosts and letting us stay with you. We had a great time and memories that will last a lifetime:) Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend. I had to narrow this down from about 350 of them.

The girl's first hay ride at Cox Farms....really awesome pumpkin festival.
All we heard all weekend was "puppy." She was madly in love with Leo and is still asking for him daily.
Loves being with her daddy
Dixie's 1st carousel ride
Best Friends
After a LONG walk to the Lincoln Memorial..but a GREAT picture
The Lincoln Memorial
Lynds and I wanted to look like we were holding up the Washington Monument...needless to say..it didn't work so well.
At the American History Museum.
The girls and their handsome dads.

For some reason Blogger won't let me upload the other pics I want to put on here...I will have to try to edit this post and add them later.....more cute ones to come!
